Acadia Healthcare seeks an Expressive Therapist in Chattanooga, TN, offering therapy modalities including recreation, music, or art therapy within a 94-bed treatment center. Plan, direct and implement activity therapy as part of patient treatment plans, with a Sunday-Thursday schedule 8:00am-4:30pm EST.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation and 3+ years in healthcare recreation; CTRS or related certification is required or in process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Three+ years’ experience in recreation within a healthcare setting required.
• Previous healthcare recreation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and implement activity therapy programs as part of the patient’s treatment plan.
• Complete activity assessments via observation and patient/family interviews to tailor treatment.
• Plan and implement activities including therapeutic leisure skills, education and awareness.
• Lead activity sessions to improve patients' mental and physical well-being.
• Instruct patients in activities such as sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques.
• Develop treatment plans and interventions to meet patient needs and goals.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and community outings.
• Foster social skills and independence, ensure safety and professional conduct.
