Job summary

Rockford Center in Newark, DE seeks Master-level Creative Arts Therapists to deliver expressive therapies (art, music, dance/movement, drama) for patients across ages. Requires a Master’s in Creative Arts Therapy or related field and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to document progress and promote recovery.

The role offers a varied PRN/per diem schedule, with weekend day shifts preferred. Experience in behavioral health is preferred; CPR certification and Handle With Care training

• Previous behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver recreational and expressive therapies aligned with patient treatment programs.

• Facilitate patient groups that are beneficial to clients.
• Maintain clinical and administrative documentation of services.
• Initiate emergency measures per CPR protocols.
• Participate in emergency crisis interventions as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and respectful, non-discriminatory care.

We are looking for Master-Level Creative Arts (MUSIC, DANCE MOVEMENT, ART, ETC.,) Therapists who are willing to share their talents in order to explore the many avenues to healing.

This opportuntity offers varied PRN/Per Diem schedule and hours preferably on weekends for day shift.

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Position Summary

The Expressive Therapist plans and facilitates therapeutic interventions utilizing creative arts modalities, such as art, music, dance/movement, drama, or other expressive therapies, to support patients' emotional, behavioral, and mental health treatment goals. This position requires a Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy, Expressive Therapies, or a related therapeutic modality and collaborates with the interdisciplinary treatment team to assess patient needs, document progress, and promote recovery through evidence-based creative interventions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality recreational and expressive therapies according to patient treatment program.
• Develop and implement expressive therapy treatment plans that are age appropriate, and consistent with overall treatment goals.
• Facilitates patient groups that are well prepared and beneficial to clients.
• Maintain the clinical and administrative documentation associated with performed services
• Initiates emergency measures according to age appropriate CPR and client resuscitation protocols.
• Participates in emergency crisis interventions according to age appropriate techniques.
• Maintains confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility and staff in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.
