Expressive Arts / Activity Therapist Opportunity - Inpatient Behavioral Health

Pembroke Hospital is hiring an Activity Therapist for a full‑time, 40‑hour per week position. The role requires working one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) per week and is scheduled typically Tuesday‑Saturday or Sunday‑Thursday.

Pembroke Hospital is a 120‑bed acute‑care, inpatient behavioral health facility located south of Boston in Pembroke, MA, providing treatment for teens, adults and older adults.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform initial activity therapy assessment and develop appropriate treatment goals
• Facilitate groups on inpatient psychiatric units
• Complete group documentation and communicate with other members of the treatment team via treatment planning and team meetings
• Provide education to Mental Health Associates through formal and informal means to ensure effective therapeutic group facilitation
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a related field and working toward or having obtained a certification in expressive, music, art, recreation, occupational or physical therapy
• OR Bachelor’s degree in recreational or expressive therapy and one of the following certifications: Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS), Board Certified Music Therapist (MT‑BC), Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR‑BC), or other Certified Expressive Therapist modality
