Position: Director of Maintenance / Radiant Express Car Wash

Reports to:President

Position Summary:

The Director of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of all car wash equipment for an organization with 10 express car wash locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Leadership:

  1. Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  2. Create preventative maintenance schedules and ensure compliance at all locations.

Equipment Management:

  1. Oversee installation, repair, and upgrade of car wash equipment for new and existing locations.
  2. Partner with vendors to secure the best pricing and support for parts and equipment.
  3. Stay informed of the latest car wash technology and trends to recommend improvements.

Safety and Compliance:

  1. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, brand standards, and environmental standards.
  2. Work alongside Operations and HR to implement risk management and safety protocols to reduce workplace accidents.

Budget and Cost Control:

  1. Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget, including forecasting and cost analysis.
  2. Monitor expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  3. Develop and track performance related to equipment uptime, repair costs, and technician efficiency.

Collaboration and Communication:

  1. Work closely with site managers and operations team to align maintenance goals with overall business objectives.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated maintenance issues.
  3. Provide regular reports to senior leadership on equipment status and maintenance projects.

Emergency Response:

  1. Develop and implement emergency response plans for critical equipment failures.
  2. Be available for on-call support as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role, preferably in the car wash, automotive, or related industries for a minimum of 5 years.
  2. Strong technical knowledge of car wash equipment, electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical repairs.
  3. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  4. Strong project management and organizational skills.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  6. Understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  7. Proficiency in maintenance management software is a plus.
  8. Trade Certificate is a plus.
