Job summary

Castle Cars McHenry is seeking an Express/Lube Technician to join our team. This entry-level role provides hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities for career advancement.

You will test systems, isolate faults, perform oil changes, inspect tires, and use power tools to service vehicles. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required; ASE certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year in a service department.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test to check systems and components are secure and working.
• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem.
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes and inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary; ensure tire pressure and lubricate fittings.
• Install a new oil drain plug and oil filter; communicate oil levels to teammates; maintain efficiency in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Repair or replace worn parts ahead of breakdown or damage.
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform tasks.

What You’ll Do as an Entry Level Technician:

• Test to check systems and components are secure and working properly
• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes and inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation, clean and lubricate fittings as needed
• Install a new oil train plug and new oil filter and communicate oil levels to teammates Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles

What We’re Looking For:

• One year in a service department

• Deep understanding of vehicles and system testing knowledge
• Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• ASE Certification/Technical degree (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Technician: $18-$20 per hour.
