Overview

Carter Machinery is hiring an Express Lube Technician in Richmond, Virginia for Weekend Shift.

The Express Lube Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance services on heavy equipment located on customer job sites or in a shop setting as needed. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a shop service environment; a High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance services on heavy equipment at customer job sites or in shop settings.
• Operate a variety of equipment in the field and at customer job-sites, including boom trucks or equivalents and overhead/field service cranes.
• Complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders; proficient with computer use and service software.
• Promote a positive customer experience and uphold Carter’s core values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence and Teamwork.
• Work overtime as required by job and customer demand; travel extensively throughout the year.
• Ensure efficient use of supplies with limited waste and comply with all safety and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain a CDL or DOT certification; excellent driving record.
• Ability to operate equipment in the field and in customer job-sites.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and service software; ability to complete service reports.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Extensive travel required throughout the year.
• Physical ability to lift, carry and maneuver up to 70 pounds; ability to perform repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing.
• Ability to meet specific vision requirements and be able to adjust focus.
• Promote safety and environmental compliance in all duties.
• Possess or be able to obtain the necessary certifications for field operations.

Compensation note: We are offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for Express Lube Technician new hires. $2,500 is payable after 90 days of employment, and the remaining $2,500 after 180 days of employment.
