Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Non-Certified Technician to inspect and service vehicles on delivery, performing minor repairs to place cars in saleable condition. You will test engine operation, check safety features, and ensure mechanical readiness for sale. A valid driver’s license and basic mechanical skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6-12 months of previous work experience in automotive or related field.
• General mechanical skills and the ability to read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sign an acceptance for each vehicle delivered.
• Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and visible defects.
• Check surfaces for chips and scratches in paint.
• Test drive to evaluate steering, brakes, transmission, and engine.
• Operate electrical components to verify proper function.
• Replace defective items using hand tools as specified.
• Install optional equipment per customer or dealer specifications.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
• Tune engines with appropriate test equipment as needed.
