Southwoods Health is hiring a part-time Medical Assistant for Express Care in Boardman, OH. The role partners with physicians to deliver high-quality patient care, performing clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced Express Care setting.

The position requires a Medical Assistant diploma or active certification (RMA/CMA/CCMA) and current BLS certification, with strong customer service and multitasking abilities to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate charting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a diploma; OR active registration/certification (RMA via AMT, CMA via AAMA, or CCMA via NHA).
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Excellent customer service, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for all patients and visitors.
• Room patients efficiently using two approved patient identifiers.
• Measure and record vital signs, chief complaints, medications, and allergies in patient charts.
• Collect, process, and prepare laboratory specimens safely for transport.
• Promptly report critical lab results, adverse reactions, and key clinical updates to the provider.
• Handle administrative tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records.
• Advocate for patient rights and responsibilities in all daily duties.
• Maintain full compliance with all relevant regulatory agency standards.

Education

Diploma in Medical Assistant program

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

RMA/CMA/CCMA certification
