Job summary

Jim Shorkey Auto Group is seeking an Express Technician to perform routine maintenance and light repairs on customer vehicles. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance and thorough vehicle inspections to identify service needs, delivering quality workmanship and timely service for a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities include performing oil changes, tire rotations, battery testing, inspections, and communicating recommended repairs to service advisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous automotive service experience preferred but not required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance services including: oil changes, tire rotations, battery testing and replacement, multi-point inspections, and fluid checks.
• Communicate recommended repairs and maintenance needs to service advisors.
• Maintain productivity and safety standards established by the dealership.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and dealership procedures.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Participate in training programs and ongoing skill development.
