Univar Solutions is seeking an Export Services Manager to lead NA export operations from The Woodlands, TX. You will manage export logistics, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as the primary liaison for sales and customers to deliver exceptional service.

The role requires 6–8 years in global trade, familiarity with ITAR/EAR, and strong leadership with a focus on cost-effective, compliant transport solutions. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

• Chemical industry experience preferred.

The Export Services Manager will oversee the export of Univar Solutions goods and will ensure safety in all transportation methods. This role will design efficient and cost-effective export process methods and analyze best means of transport essential for Univar Solutions to deliver on our commitment to customers and achieve our company objectives to “Streamline, Innovate & Grow .

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Management of export logistics personnel and associated processes. Negotiation of spot rates and sponsorship of carrier procurement initiatives.
• Management and communication of relevant export compliance - DOT, IMO, IMDG, ITAR, etc. R egulations.
• Act as key point of contact for sales and customers to provide consistent, positive customer experiences.
• Assists in earning “Customers for Life” through the establishment of positive customer relationships and satisfaction .
• This role is empowered to make decisions on behalf of company in alignment with Univar Solutions strategy, guiding principles and customer satisfaction.

Department Development

• Lead the aggregation of North American export operations and related functions into a single cohesive operating department within the Supply Chain organization.
• Develop, streamline & monitor export processes, compliance and logistics workflows to deliver operational excellence to internal and external partners.
• Manage logistics (inland, ocean, air freight ) to/ from vendor to warehouse/or customer direct deliveries to meet customer commitments.
• Interview hire and train colleagues for roles within the Export Operations department.
• Work with the Director of ITS, to optimize Univar’s ocean network to facilitate growth in new and existing trade lanes.

Leadership

• Lead by example to encourage and inspire safety first and live our cultural values.
• Create a positive and supportive environment for colleagues to contribute towards Univar Solutions’ goal of reimagining distribution.
• Lead teach and coach our colleagues to deliver “Customers for Life” mentality through excellence in customer service.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders in sales, product and branches to achieve organizational goals.

Analysis

• Manage and obtain carrier spot quotes and development of RFP’s in conjunction with Univar Solutions Transportation team.
• Create & distribute department reports, analytics, dashboards for KPI’s.
• Key contributor in the development & execution of the ITS strategy, operational and financial performance.
• Work with the Director of ITS to optimize Univar’s Solutions’ ocean network to provide cost effective and timely service to internal and external customers.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s Degree , required . Master's Degree, preferred.
• Minimum of 6-8 years in global/international trade operations, including responsibility for import and/or export for North America locations.
• Experience in customer, freight forwarding , customs brokerage and export trading.
• Chemical industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience with ITAR/EAR, DEA, EPA and BIS preferred.
• NCBFAA Certifications (CCS, CES, MES), IATA, IMDG (among others) preferred.
• Demonstrated direct leadership & coaching skills.
• Strong analytical skills & organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong problem solving and time management skills.
• Act a subject matter expert in export logistics & compliance.
• Strong ability to bring organizational & process structure to greenfield initiatives.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English.
• Ability to analyze information – orders, customers, vendors, pricing, and credit terms.
• Experienced in use of computer, MS office applications & SAP or equivalent ERP system, e-learning development preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, Korean or Mandarin and English preferred.
