Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Export Regulatory Specialist to provide oversight for all required documentation for product exports, ensuring full compliance with U.S. and international customs regulations. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and excellent organizational skills to support our growing global operations.

This position is based out of our Monroe Township, NJ facility 5x a week.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  • Prepare and complete all necessary export documentation, including Health Certificates, Phytosanitary Certificates, Manufacturer Declarations, and other compliance documents.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Customs, FDA, USDA, and other government agency regulations related to product exports.
  • Apply a working knowledge of export laws and regulations to support business needs and maintain compliance.
  • Verify that all raw materials and finished products meet the exporting country’s regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including purchasing, customer service, sales, and logistics, to address customs matters and provide regulatory guidance.
  • Maintain and update IREGs (International Regulations) documentation for approved exporting countries.
  • Conduct research and provide insights on export requirements for new international markets.
  • Assist regulatory management with annual inspections to sustain export approval status.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the manager to support compliance and business operations.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, or related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of USDA, FDA, and state regulations related to food or pet food storage, handling, and distribution.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF) and experience using office equipment such as photocopiers and scanners.
