Job summary

TechOp Solutions International is seeking an Export Control Specialist to support classification of technologies, items, and services for compliance with ITAR, EAR, USML, and OFAC requirements.

The role requires hands-on export compliance experience, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to work both independently and with cross‑functional teams in a mission-driven environment.

Onsite work in the Washington, DC metropolitan area is expected up to five days per week.

Qualifications

• At least three years of demonstrated export compliance experience, including application of ITAR, EAR, USML categories, and ECCNs.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Strong reading comprehension, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical and regulatory information clearly to audiences with varied backgrounds.
• Ability to manage assignments independently and contribute effectively to team projects.
• Availability to work onsite in the Washington, DC metropolitan area up to five days per week as required.

Responsibilities

• Independently classify items, services, and technologies under applicable Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs) and USML categories.
• Identify applicable export exemptions and licensing requirements.
• Prepare assessments, briefings, technical evaluations, and regulatory interpretations.
• Maintain compliance databases, documenting review findings and supporting information.
• Develop and update training materials and outreach products.
• Provide technical and programmatic input to reviews and policy development.
