Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for an Export Compliance Manager at our West Caldwell, NJ location.

About Crane

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. We operate in environments ranging from engines to satellites, medical implants, missiles, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Our West Caldwell facility provides microwave components and systems for space, defense, and commercial applications, including GPS III satellites.

Job Summary

The Site ECM maintains the site’s export compliance program and is responsible for all aspects of export compliance activities, including adherence to policies, licensing, auditing, training, and investigation. The ECM works closely with site leadership and the Group ECM to improve the compliance posture.

Essential Functions

• Provide export compliance consultation, guidance, and training in partnership with engineering, quality, operations, sales, contracts, HR, and facilities security teams.
• Work closely with site leadership as a trusted partner to maintain and improve overall compliance.
• Support group and corporate export compliance initiatives and collaborate across sites to improve the overall posture.
• Participate in group and company-wide calls, meetings, and initiatives.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of export compliance, contracts management, industrial security or related field.
• Knowledge: Expert knowledge of U.S. regulations including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, NISPOM.
• Skills: Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, provide training, and communicate effectively.
• Ability: Work effectively across functional teams and with senior leadership; distill complex regulatory requirements into business impact.
• Education: BA/BS or equivalent experience.
• Eligibility: Position may require access to Controlled Data; only U.S. persons will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree such as MBA, JD or joint advanced degree.
• Export compliance experience in aerospace & defense industry.
• Active U.S. security clearance and knowledge of classified material handling and industrial security procedures (NISPOM); previous FSO experience beneficial.

Working Conditions

• Standard office environment in manufacturing company.
• Requires substantial visual concentration on detail.
• May require use of safety equipment when visiting manufacturing areas; possible exposure to loud noise, cold, dust, fumes.

Physical Demands

Standing: 10%, Sitting: 90%. Lifting up to 10 pounds. Pushing up to 10 pounds. Mental/visual use of computer, phone, calculator, filing cabinets. Workspace: cubicle/desk.

Salary

Salary range: $131,729.30 - $163,399.80. Actual salary based on experience, skills, training, and qualifications. May be eligible for performance-based bonus.
