Job summary

Ruby Tuesday in Windsor Locks, CT is seeking an Expo associate to coordinate food orders and maintain the expo area. You will use the Kitchen Display System (KDS) to ensure orders go out accurately and on time, while maintaining high quality and proper food handling standards.

You will support service and heart-of-house teams, expedite meals for TueGo, catering, dining room and bar areas, and contribute to a team-driven, guest-focused atmosphere on a fast-paced shift.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• No prior work experience required.
• Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
• Ability to follow proper food handling and serving regulations and to operate etc., as required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Kitchen Display System (KDS) to maintain flow of service and prepare items to spec.
• Ensure high quality preparation and presentation, keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold.
• Organize table orders in the expo area according to tickets.
• Complete side work and station maintenance.
• Set up, clean and organize work area before/during/after shift.

Expo is responsible for ensuring all food orders are prepared within a timely manner, according to Guest special requests, and Ruby Tuesday recipes. Communicates with service and heart of house teams to expedite all food deliveries for TueGo/Catering, dining room, and bar areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize the Kitchen Display System (KDS) effectively to maintain the flow of service, control cost/waste, and prepare items to spec and accommodate guest modifications
• Ensure the highest quality preparation and presentation of food items; confirms hot food is hot and cold food is cold.
• Organize the table orders in the expo area according to the tickets.
• Complete specific side work and station maintenance.
• Responsible for the set-up, cleanliness, and organization of the work area before, during, and after every shift.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Manage the preparation of all re-cooks and special-order requests, including allergen orders.
• Expedite the service of food for TueGo, Catering, dining room, and bar areas.
• Maintain a gracious, pleasant and friendly attitude, while contributing to a teamwork-based work environment.
• Support the service team in a way as to create new and repeat business and avoid guest complaints.

QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires regular attendance; requires the ability to stand or walk for hours at a time; frequently required to hear, speak, walk, crawl, climb, stand, reach, bend, balance, kneel, stoop, lift and carry items up to 50 lbs; requires ability to tolerate significant changes in temperature, and frequent immersion of hands in water and cleaning or sanitizing solutions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
