Job summary

Ruby Tuesday in Bedford, VA is seeking an Expo team member to ensure timely food prep and accurate fulfillment of guest orders for TueGo, catering, dining room and bar areas.

You will use the Kitchen Display System (KDS) to maintain service flow, coordinate with service and heart of house teams, and help deliver high-quality, on-spec dishes.

No prior experience required; must be 18+, able to stand long hours, and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.

• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines.

• Expedite food for TueGo, Catering, dining room and bar.
• Maintain a courteous, team-focused attitude.
• Support the service team to create revisit opportunities and reduce complaints.

Expo is responsible for ensuring all food orders are prepared within a timely manner, according to Guest special requests, and Ruby Tuesday recipes. Communicates with service and heart of house teams to expedite all food deliveries for TueGo/Catering, dining room, and bar areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize the Kitchen Display System (KDS) effectively to maintain the flow of service, control cost/waste, and prepare items to spec and accommodate guest modifications
• Ensure the highest quality preparation and presentation of food items; confirms hot food is hot and cold food is cold.
• Organize the table orders in the expo area according to the tickets.
• Complete specific side work and station maintenance.
• Responsible for the set-up, cleanliness, and organization of the work area before, during, and after every shift.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Manage the preparation of all re-cooks and special-order requests, including allergen orders.
• Expedite the service of food for TueGo, Catering, dining room, and bar areas.
• Maintain a gracious, pleasant and friendly attitude, while contributing to a teamwork-based work environment.
• Support the service team in a way as to create new and repeat business and avoid guest complaints.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years old

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires regular attendance; requires the ability to stand or walk for hours at a time; frequently required to hear, speak, walk, crawl, climb, stand, reach, bend, balance, kneel, stoop, lift and carry items up to 50 lbs; requires ability to tolerate significant changes in temperature, and frequent immersion of hands in water and cleaning or sanitizing solutions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
