Job summary

Another Broken Egg Cafe is hiring an Expeditor to ensure quality and timely presentation of menu items, delivering orders to guests and coordinating with kitchen and front-of-house teams in a fast-paced restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality and proper presentation of food before it is delivered to guests.
• Verify food orders for accuracy and completeness before leaving the kitchen.
• Deliver food orders to guests promptly and professionally in accordance with restaurant standards.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely service.
• Communicate order modifications, special requests, or concerns to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain an organized, clean, safe, and fully stocked expo line throughout the shift.
• Ensure appropriate garnishes, condiments, and accompanying items are included with each order.
• Monitor food quality and presentation and promptly communicate any concerns to kitchen staff or management.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and proper food presentation standards.
• Assist with restocking supplies and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the food service area.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team members to maintain efficient service, particularly during peak periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the quality and proper presentation of menu items and delivering food orders to guests in a timely and professional manner. This role works closely with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure orders are accurate, complete, and presented according to restaurant standards. The Expeditor also helps maintain a clean, safe, organized, and fully stocked line while supporting efficient service and an exceptional guest experience.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a busy, fast-paced restaurant environment. Expeditors will work primarily in kitchen, expo, and dining areas and may be exposed to noise, heat, varying temperatures, hot food and surfaces, and food-related hazards. The role requires frequent interaction with kitchen and front-of-house team members and the ability to work efficiently during high-volume periods.

Physical Essential Functions:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequent walking between the kitchen, expo line, and dining areas to deliver food orders.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching while handling food orders, restocking supplies, and maintaining the expo area.
• Ability to lift and carry trays, plates, food orders, and restaurant supplies as needed.
• Repeated use of hands and arms to carry trays, plates, food orders, and supplies.
• Ability to perform cleaning, sanitizing, organizing, and restocking duties throughout the shift.
• Ability to work safely around hot food, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas.
• Tolerance of a fast-paced, warm, and sometimes noisy restaurant environment.
