Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is seeking a K-9 Security Officer to protect Bank property and personnel. You will work as a K-9 team, handling explosives detection screening, responding to incidents, and maintaining certifications.

Responsibilities include operating with policies, reporting incidents in writing, and ensuring safety of the Bank community. A high school diploma or GED is required; associate degree or 2 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; higher preferred.
• Two years of law enforcement or K-9 experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates as a law enforcement K-9 handler to provide explosives detection screening of deliveries, vehicles, and events.
• Responds to alarms, accidents, and incidents; reports facts in writing and performs follow-up duties.
• Maintains proficiency and certification in explosive detection per laws and Fed policy.
• Responsible for maintenance, care, handling and training of the assigned K-9.
• Could be required to testify in court in response to a subpoena.
