Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Explorers Assistant Site Supervisor at Groveland Elementary. The role is 40 hours per week, year-round, Monday–Friday, with shifts from 6:30-9:30 AM and 1:00-6:00 PM.

Compensation starts at $24.35 per hour plus a $0.60 split shift differential and provides medical and dental benefits. The primary objective is to supervise a high-quality childcare program and act as Lead Explorers Instructor.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• Evidence of successful teamwork experience.
• Experience in childcare/educational setting for preschool children.
• Experience using technology in curriculum.
• Experience with inclusion initiatives.
• Strong child and parent relationships evident.
• Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
• CCAP training completed before first day of employment.
• Must complete required staff development hours annually.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated confidentiality.
• Punctuality and responsibility are required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Develop an environment where children take responsibility for learning human interactions, choices, and group participation.
• Create enriching classroom activities aligned with Creative Curriculum and learning objectives.
• In absence of the Site Supervisor, supervise and direct the Explorers program and staff.
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and school personnel to identify and solve problems.
• Maintain behavioral standards to ensure safety and classroom functioning.
• Participate in staff development and training.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
