Position: Community Education/Explorers Behavior Assistant

School year - part-time afternoon and full-time positions available at multiple elementary schools.

Wages
  • $20.70 per hour
  • This position qualifies for a stipend from a DHS Stabilization Grant.
  • Starting hourly rates can be viewed under Appendix B on the Minnetonka Community Education website.

Note: Not benefit eligible.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Provide support by working one-on-one with students who have difficulty participating in daily activities.
  2. Assist students with supervision during transitions, group activities, and unstructured play.
  3. Model appropriate intervention strategies.
  4. Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to ensure safety and success of all children.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with special needs or behavior challenges.
  • Positive human relations skills with adults and students.
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Punctuality and responsibility.
  • Experience supporting student instruction preferred.
Physical Requirements

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
