Job summary

Primrose School of Fishers Parkside is seeking an Explorer Teacher for after-school care for children aged 5 to 10. The role focuses on leadership, character development and design thinking through a flexible, student-led curriculum. Shifts run Monday to Friday, typically from 2:00 p.m.

to 6:00 p.m., with options to adjust hours for full-time benefits. Responsibilities include supervising a classroom, implementing the Balanced Learning curriculum, and fostering curiosity and confidence in each

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Previous teaching in a licensed early childhood program preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of children.

Responsibilities

• Overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
• Observes health, safety and care regulations per local and national guidelines.
• Implements approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule.
• Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creation and exploration.
• Provides verbal recognition and clear expectations for children's behavior.
• Performs housekeeping and maintenance duties in classroom and play areas.
• Assists in other capacities as needed by the Director or designee.
