Perle is seeking an Expert Audio Transcriber (Tagalog/Filipino) to convert native Tagalog audio into precise, time-aligned transcripts that meet project-style guidelines. You will handle dialectal and code-switched speech, flag quality issues, and work with QA teams in a fast-paced AI production environment.

The role offers flexible remote work from the Philippines, paid pilots, and compensation tied to audio complexity and turnaround needs.

Qualifications

• Native fluency in Tagalog with deep immersion in the Philippines.
• Strong working English proficiency to handle Taglish.
• Mastery of Filipino orthography per Komisyon guidelines.
• Familiarity with regional Tagalog accents and slang.
• At least 2 years of professional transcription experience.
• Experience in captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation.
• Demonstrated word-level accuracy under deadline pressure.
• Comfortable using web-based annotation platforms.
• Comfortable with variable-speed audio playback tools.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection.
• Quality headphones and a quiet workspace.
• Ability to commit to a defined weekly workload.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text following Perle's style guides.
• Apply conventions for speaker identification, overlapping speech, disfluencies, fillers, false starts, and non-speech events.
• Make principled orthographic decisions for dialectal, colloquial, and code-switched speech.
• Flag ambiguous segments, uncertain speakers, and audio quality issues using project conventions.
• Self-review all submissions against Perle's quality standards before delivery.
• Collaborate with QA reviewers on calibration sessions, edge cases, and style guide updates.
