Job summary

Xylem is seeking an Expert Field Service Technician to join our Garner, NC team. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced mechanical, electrical, and diesel-powered equipment at customer sites, often traveling between locations.

This role requires independent work, strong problem-solving skills, and a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. Eligible candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to obtain required clearances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, diesel, or fusion equipment experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems with diagnostic skills.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and field repairs.
• Ability to work independently while mentoring others.

This role works independently with minimal supervision while supporting multiple systems and customers, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. If you believe you would be a great fit for our team, we encourage you to apply today.**Position Requirements for Expert Field Service Technicians*** High school diploma or equivalent* Ability to obtain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)* Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card* Clean driving record* Valid driver's license* Completion of required driver qualification documentation, including MVR, FMCSA, and DOT compliance requirements* 3–7 years of technical field service or related work experience preferred**Preferred Skills and Experience*** Strong mechanical, electrical, diesel, or fusion equipment experience (depending on business unit)* Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems using sound critical thinking and diagnostic skills* Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment repairs in the field* Ability to work independently while coaching and mentoring less experienced technicians* Strong customer service and communication skills* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices* Ability to clearly communicate technical information to customers and internal teams* Proven ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and deliver results in dynamic environments* Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and protecting both company and customer equipment* Ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating accountability, innovation, and ownership\*\*The estimated salary range for this position is $29/hr-$35/hr.
