Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited echo course.
• Certification or 3 years of echocardiology experience with ability to perform and preliminarily interpret studies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Echocardiograms throughout the Medical Center, including patient rooms and the emergency department.
• Explain the procedure to patients, provide instructions, and ensure accuracy and comfort.
• Assess data reflecting patient status and interpret information to identify patient needs.
• Recognize artifacts, troubleshoot minor equipment issues, and maintain image quality.
• Process images per policies and enter data (charges, logbook, schedule functions).
• Practice radiation safety and ensure compliance by staff and students.
• Obtain pertinent clinical data and analyze, process, and report outcomes in a timely manner.

Education

Completion of an accredited echo course

Certification or 3 years of experience with specialized training in echocardiology
