Expert Demo Specialist - Hospital Financials & Clinicals / Remote

Remote U.S. Role

OVERVIEW

Altera Digital Health seeks a highly skilled and engaging Demo Specialist who deeply understands hospital revenue cycle management and clinical workflows. This role is critical in delivering compelling, persuasive software demonstrations that showcase Altera’s financial and clinical solutions to prospective clients.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in revenue cycle operations, including patient access, scheduling, billing, coding, and reimbursement processes. They will also understand how clinical workflows impact financial outcomes and serve as trusted subject matter experts, translating complex healthcare processes into impactful demonstrations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engaging Software Demonstrations

  • Deliver highly engaging and persuasive software demonstrations illustrating the value of Altera’s revenue cycle and clinical solutions.
  • Customize and tailor demonstrations to address client pain points directly, ensuring relevance and impact.
  • Present complex healthcare workflows clearly and compellingly to diverse audiences, including C-suite executives, IT analysts, and end-users.

Revenue Cycle & Clinical Expertise

  • Act as a subject matter expert in hospital revenue cycle operations, including patient access, scheduling, charge capture, billing, coding, reimbursement, and compliance.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how clinical workflows affect revenue cycle processes, such as eligibility verification, medical necessity checks, claims adjudication, and denial management.
  • Stay informed on healthcare regulations, industry trends, and evolving best practices to ensure demonstrations align with the latest industry standards.
  • Collaborate with product and sales teams to configure and optimize demo environments, ensuring they align with client requirements and best practices.
  • Translate client needs and sales team insights into effective and tailored demo scenarios.
  • Maintain and update demonstration environments to reflect new software features, industry trends, and real-world use cases.
  • Conduct in-depth client needs assessments to tailor demonstrations for maximum impact.
  • Address client questions, concerns, and objections with expertise and confidence.
  • Build strong rapport and credibility with prospective clients by demonstrating deep industry knowledge.
  • Support the sales team with pre-sales activities, including developing demo scripts, sales strategies, and client-focused materials.
  • Provide valuable feedback to product management teams regarding client needs, market demands, and industry challenges.

Leadership & Industry Experience

  • Leverage leadership experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, such as Patient Accounting Director, Revenue Cycle Manager, or Acute Care Billing Manager roles, to add credibility to presentations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader, demonstrating real-world expertise in revenue cycle challenges and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in hospital revenue cycle management.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in hospital revenue cycle management, including patient access, billing, coding, and reimbursement processes.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging and persuasive software demonstrations to clients.
  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows and their impact on revenue cycle efficiency, reimbursement, and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems, preferably Altera’s (formerly Allscripts) solutions or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare revenue cycle setting, such as Patient Accounting Director, Revenue Cycle Manager, or Billing Manager.
  • Experience with:
    • RAC audits and claim scrubbing software for compliance and revenue optimization.
    • ASC (Ambulatory Surgical Center) and APC (Ambulatory Payment Classification) reimbursement models.
    • Medical necessity checking and its role in claim approvals and revenue integrity.
    • Open database systems and their benefits in revenue cycle management and reporting.

TRAVEL

Up to 25% travel, primarily within the U.S., to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support sales efforts.

WORK ARRANGEMENTS

  • Remote, U.S.-based position. Candidates must reside near a major airport for easy travel.
  • Flexibility required. This role adapts to client schedules, occasionally including evening or extended hours.
