Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is seeking an Expert 3C’s Engineer to focus on implementation and fine-tuning systems for camera, player movement, and control on Project Sirius. This original video game combines beloved elements of The Witcher universe with immersive multiplayer gameplay. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience designing these systems across disciplines, is a skilled communicator, and a self-driven problem solver. Most importantly, you care deeply about the player experience, understand what motivates and inspires players, and know how to build systems that meet those needs.
Responsibilities
- Focus on the 3C’s of Character, Camera, and Controls, collaborating closely with designers, animators, and engineers on system prototyping and implementation, ensuring systems meet project standards.
- Develop and implement systems in engine within a multiplayer environment using C++ and Blueprints.
- Communicate and collaborate across departments related to 3C systems: work with gameplay design, engineering, and production to manage prioritization, implementation, and scope concerning camera, controls, and character systems.
- Adhere to code quality standards set by the team.
- Collaborate across disciplines to realize the overall vision of the game.
- Solicit and incorporate feedback from team members on existing systems.
Qualifications
- Proven success in creating compelling 3C systems in AAA third-person multiplayer games.
- Deep understanding of core 3C concepts such as camera behaviors, state machines, character movement, animations, and accessibility controls, with experience implementing them in multiplayer games to ensure high fidelity for all clients.
- Extensive knowledge of current game titles, movies, and visual arts as references for original ideas.
- Excellent communication skills with engineering, art, narrative, and production teams.
- Curiosity, kindness, and a positive, professional attitude.
