What You Will Be Doing

Helion is hiring an Experimental Scientist to lead our x-ray diagnostic efforts. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers on plasma physics, spectroscopy, data analysis, and documentation. You will report to the Manager of Plasma Diagnostics at our Everett, WA office.

You Will

1. Lead our x-ray diagnostics efforts: conceptualize, design, construct, and deploy x-ray spectroscopic tools for fusion plasma diagnostics. Own diagnostics for x-ray spectroscopy and cameras for spatially resolved x-ray emission.
2. Collaborate cross-functionally: support scientists in optical and non-optical diagnostics during experimental campaigns.
3. Analyze, report, and document: develop data analysis routines and document diagnostic methodologies.

Required Skills

1. PhD in physics, engineering, or related field with relevant fusion plasma experience.
2. 3+ years of hands-on laboratory experience.
3. Broad knowledge of plasma physics and diagnostic principles, especially in fusion plasmas.
4. Experience developing and deploying x-ray diagnostics, spectroscopy, and cameras for fusion plasmas.
5. Proficiency in using diagnostic data for research and mission goals.
6. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams on large-scale experiments.

Compensation and Benefits
