Summary

The experimental operations Technician will assist the Supervisor to support flight test operational activity, perform reconfiguration activity to ensure aircraft is properly fitted for each certification and experimental test activity, and perform functional test procedures to ensure mechanical systems are functioning within design parameters. The Technician will perform mechanical system troubleshooting to identify non-conformities and defects. Overtime and weekend work is expected.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the experimental operations team to perform inspections on the aircraft as instructed through Engineering Technical Instructions.
  • Participate with team to prepare the experimental aircraft for flight by performing the daily inspection, ensuring all maintenance is complete, towing, launching, and recovering aircraft into the hangar using SOP.
  • Participate in Functional Test Procedures to test system on ground prior to flight to ensure system functionality and flight safety.
  • Perform first-of-type and prototype installations and software with engineering input and work instructions.
  • Follow job cards to remove and install LRUs and components as needed.
  • Work with Supervisor to achieve a high performing team with focus on maintaining a highly motivated workforce that enjoys being part of the Exp Ops team.

  • Experience working on Tilt-Rotor aircraft (Preferred)
  • Experience work on experimental / development aircraft (Preferred)
  • Must be able to work any shift (Days/Swing/Nights)
  • Must be able to travel for off-site aircraft testing
