Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation's Experimental Lab in El Segundo seeks an Experimental Machinist to fabricate and assemble precision prototype hardware, operate CNC mills and lathes, and support rapid fabrication of unique components.

You will use Mastercam, inspect parts with precision tools, and follow safety and EHS practices while working on diverse materials, including exotic alloys, with 100% onsite work.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to read and interpret detailed prints or sketches.
• Knowledge of GD&T tolerancing and measurement practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is required (US citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble precision prototype hardware.
• Program, machine set-ups, and operate CNC mills and lathes, waterjet, and related equipment.
• Inspect components with precision measuring tools and ensure specification compliance.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards in the shop.
