Job Description
The Recreational Therapist reports to the Manager of Experiential Therapy. This position provides comprehensive, quality therapy services (recreational, art, or music) for psychiatric patients. Responsibilities include assessing patients’ strengths and needs, documenting therapeutic engagement, and providing training, orientation, and education to staff, interns, and students related to psychiatry.
Additional Job Details
Therapeutic Recreation position: Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; one-year related work experience preferred. Credentialed as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
Music Therapy position: Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; one-year related work experience preferred. Credentialed as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
Art Therapy position: Requires a Master’s degree from an accredited institution; one-year related work experience preferred in art therapy; Credentialed as an Art Therapist by the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB) and registered ATR.
