Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Experiential Graphic Designer to join our Houston Branding, Graphics & Experience Design Team, supporting BGX Designers nationwide.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to develop strategies and graphic solutions that extend our client's brand story into the built environment, including interior/exterior signage and wayfinding for academic, hospitality, residential, commercial, and cultural projects.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in graphic design, communication or environmental design is preferred.
  • 4+ years of professional work experience with a focus in signage, wayfinding, and experiential graphic design.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design team to develop strategies and document graphic solutions.
  • Design concepts for touchpoints such as interior/exterior signage, wayfinding, and experiences for diverse project types.
  • Develop Signage and Wayfinding Programming Documents and fabrication/installation drawings.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for an Experiential Graphic Designer to join our Houston Branding, Graphics & Experience Design Team, while supporting our other BGX Designers nationwide.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design team (branding & graphics, interior architecture, architecture) to develop strategies and document graphic solutions that will extend our client’s brand story into the built environment.
  • Using brand and identity, as well as the architectural look and feel of a project as the foundation, design concepts for touchpoints such as interior and exterior signage & wayfinding, thematic & specialty graphics, visioning and experiences for academic facilities, hospitality venues, residential & multi-family properties, commercial & workplace spaces, parks & cultural institutions, sports & entertainment experiences, retail developments and aviation projects.
  • Develop Signage and Wayfinding Programming Documents (Location Plans and Message Schedules), develop and expand signage and graphics design concepts, detail signage drawings that document designs for fabrication and installation within architectural and landscape settings.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Knowledge and understating of architectural drawings and process
  • Understanding of materials and methods required for signage fabrication and installation
  • Significant knowledge and interest in typography and color is a plus
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, eagerness for learning and knowledge-sharing in a collaborative studio
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to receive and deliver constructive critique
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to creative excellence
  • Portfolio demonstrating a strong design sensibility and typographic skills
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and CADDTools
  • Revit, FileMaker and/or WayfindIt experience is a plus
Education and Experience
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in graphic design, communication or environmental design is preferred, but candidates from the architectural or interior architectural disciplines are always a welcome addition to the team.
  • 4+ years of professional work experience with a focus in signage, wayfinding, and experiential graphic design preferred

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
