Position Summary:

As a Workers’ Compensation Claim Consultant, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of your assigned CA workers’ compensation claims, from investigation to resolution. This role is part of a small, dedicated team supporting a single client, offering both autonomy and team support. This position may also serve as a development role for future leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate, evaluate, and adjust workers’ compensation claims in accordance with CA law and CCMSI guidelines

  • Establish and monitor reserves

  • Approve and negotiate medical and legal expenses

  • Make claim payments within authority levels

  • Coordinate with outside vendors (legal, case management, surveillance, etc.)

  • Maintain diary, documentation, and client communications

  • Monitor subrogation and notify excess/reinsurance carriers as appropriate

  • Ensure compliance with claim handling standards and client-specific instructions

Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience adjusting workers’ compensation claims

  • Strong knowledge of California workers’ compensation statutes

  • SIP designation preferred (or willingness to obtain)

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Personable, dependable, organized, and team-oriented

  • AIC, ARM, or CPCU a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
