Our client, a leading manufacturer in the metalworking industry, is seeking an EXPERIENCED Welder - 3rd Shift to join their team. As a Welder, you will be part of the production department supporting the fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Location:

Newport News, VA

Pay Range:

$16 and up

What’s the Job?

1. Fit and weld sheet metal parts to specifications.
2. Examine work pieces for defects and ensure conformity to specifications.
3. Use clamps to accurately fit work pieces together.
4. Weld components in various positions, including flat, vertical, or overhead.
5. Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns.

What’s Needed?

1. Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols.
2. Experience welding light gauge sheet metal in a production environment.
3. Effective communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and vendors.
4. Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform repetitive movements.
5. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a sheet metal job shop or contract manufacturing.
