Job summary

EAST VALLEY ANIMAL HOSPITAL is seeking a reliable veterinary technician to join a small, close-knit team in Gilbert, AZ. You will handle patient care, assist veterinarians, and educate clients on treatment plans to support our patients' wellbeing.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience, strong communication, and is committed to high-quality care in a warm, community-focused practice. Schedule includes long shifts with a 3.5-4 day work week and no nights.

Qualifications

• Must be relational and a strong team player.
• Ability to educate clients and discuss treatment plans.
• Experience obtaining vital parameters, venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Proper and humane restraint techniques and radiograph positioning.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and provide patient care.
• Educate clients on treatment plans and post-visit care.
• Assist with radiographs and proper restraint as needed.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes during visits.

The ideal candidate must be:

• Relational, not just skilled (although both are important).
• A team player who loves living in community with others (no lone rangers, please).
• Articulate and able to share what they are feeling and experiencing.
• Enjoys educating clients and feels quite comfortable going over treatment plans with clients.
• Assessing patient stability - obtaining vital parameters, venipuncture, IV catheter placement are a must.
• Proper and humane restraint techniques and radiograph positioning and exposure skills are also required.
• Is motivated to the highest quality of care to all our patients in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Schedule

• 10 hour shift/8 or 6 hr shifts.
• 3.5-4 day work week.
• No nights.
• Half day Saturday shifts (7:30am-2pm)

Supplemental pay types

• Incentive pay. When team members excel, they are celebrated, both by company-wide recognition and supplemental incentive pay tied to contribution.

Education

• High school or equivalent (Preferred).

Experience
