VCA Palmetto Animal Hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC is hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The role focuses on creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients while supporting anesthesia, surgery prep, radiology, and clinical duties.

The successful candidate will handle patient assessment, triage, hospitalized care, and client education. You’ll work with radiology, lab work, venipuncture, catheter placement, and medical record keeping to ensure top-notch

Responsibilities

• Support team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
• Perform tasks across clinical duties including anesthesia monitoring, radiology, and labs.
• Maintain medical records and support workflow during shifts.
• Coordinate with veterinarians for patient care and emergencies.

About The Role

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will support our team by creating a positive, low‑stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Required skills include:

• Patient assessment and triage
• Hospitalized patient care
• Client education and care
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Radiology
• Laboratory sample collection and processing
• Microscopy
• Venipuncture

Schedule: Full TIme, weekend rotation required.

Compensation: $16 - $20 / hour is based on skill level and experience.
