Newaygo Veterinary Services, founded in 1981, takes pride in providing excellent care and service to the community. We are a small animal hospital, a 3-Doctor practice, looking to add a compassionate, driven, and collaborative team member.
We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our knowledgeable and skilled team. This full-time position offers a 4-day work week with 32-40 hours. The ideal candidate should have experience in surgical prep, post-op monitoring, taking medical histories, and initial work-ups, but we are willing to train the right individual.
Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: history taking, assisting doctors during examinations, retrieving laboratory samples, assisting with surgical prep and post-op care, developing dental radiographs, managing hospitalized patients, handling prescription refills, venipuncture, assisting with client communication, and technician appointments.
