Job summary

Brunswick Forest Veterinary Hospital in Leland, NC is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join a fast-paced, AAHA-accredited team. You will support doctors and technicians, assist with exams, treatments, radiographs, and patient recovery, while delivering compassionate care to pets and their families.

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary assistant or animal care experience.
  • Comfortable safely handling and restraining dogs and cats.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments, treatments, and procedures
  • Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
  • Assist with surgical preparation and patient recovery
  • Support blood draws, laboratory sample collection, and diagnostic testing
  • Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments under the direction of the veterinary team
  • Monitor and provide basic nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain treatment, surgical, and patient areas
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients
  • Maintain accurate patient information and medical records
  • Work closely with doctors, technicians, and fellow assistants to keep the hospital running smoothly

What You'll Do
