Job summary

VCA Seaside Animal Hospital in Calabash, NC is seeking a Full Time Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited GP practice with surgical experience required. Our state-of-the-art facility includes digital radiology-whole body and dental, cold laser therapy, ultrasonography, and a dedicated surgical suite.

You will be challenged to grow and learn with a team that fully supports you along the way!

Qualifications

• Surgical experience required and prior experience in surgery, anesthesia and nursing care.
• Credentialed veterinary technicians or students in training are welcome.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with multi-doctor team.

Responsibilities

• Patient assessment and recovery.
• IV fluid administration and CRI calculations.
• Hands free radiology and diagnostic imaging.
• Client communications and discharge.

The ideal candidate is someone interested in career progression, will be a team player who is mature, dependable, positive multitasker with excellent communication and strong interest in becoming a leader. Prior experience in surgery, anesthesia, and nursing care is required. Experienced assistants are asked to think analytically through patient needs and the disease process in order to deliver the highest quality care.

Compensation

$16.00 - $18.00 / hr is based on skill set, experience, and licensure status
