Prestige Tree Experts in Jessup, MD is seeking a full-time Experienced Tree Groundsman who can support climbers and crew during removals and pruning, handle ropes, rigging, and equipment, and help keep job sites safe and organized.

You will operate saws and small machinery, maintain gear, comply with safety standards, and contribute to a collaborative team that values reliability and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Prior professional tree-service ground-crew experience.
• Competence in chainsaw operation, sharpening, and basic maintenance.
• Working knowledge of ropes, knots, rigging equipment, and controlled lowering.
• Ability to perform demanding outdoor work and navigate uneven terrain.
• Strong awareness of drop zones, moving equipment, and changing job-site conditions.
• Dependability, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

THE TYPE OF CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Prior professional tree-service ground-crew experience
• Competence in chainsaw operation, sharpening, and basic maintenance
• Working knowledge of ropes, knots, rigging equipment, and controlled lowering
• Ability to perform demanding outdoor work and navigate uneven terrain
• Strong awareness of drop zones, moving equipment, and changing job-site conditions
• Dependability, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude

A valid driver's license and experience operating mini skid steers, Dingos, or similar equipment is preferred. A current CDL is a plus.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS AN EXPERIENCED TREE GROUNDSMAN

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position, with weekend availability for storm response and emergency work considered a valuable plus.

As our Experienced Tree Groundsman, you'll support climbers, operators, and crew leaders during tree removals and pruning, assist with ropes and rigging systems, safely process wood and brush, maintain chainsaws and equipment, and help operate approved machinery. Throughout the day, you'll keep work areas organized, communicate with the crew, monitor safety conditions, and complete thorough site cleanup, ensuring every job is finished efficiently and to a high standard.
