Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist to trim and remove trees, improve health and safety, and service customers on site in Mashpee, MA. This outdoor role emphasizes climbing skill, safe operation of equipment, and teamwork with support crews.

You will perform pruning/removal, install supports where needed, and handle tools like chainsaws, chippers, and lifts. A strong outdoors affinity and relevant training are expected.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Must complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• First Aid, CPR and defensive driving training required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning/removal safely for clients.
• Operate as part of a crew with ground crew lead.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related equipment.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection as needed.

Compensation

$30 - $35 Hourly (Based on experience)

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
  • Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
  • Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
  • Removal of hazardous trees
  • Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
