Job summary

Caldwell in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Associate to support a fast-growing trademark practice with an international portfolio. You will manage portfolios, advise on clearance, filing, opposition, renewals, and enforcement with USPTO and foreign offices.

The role requires JD, active California Bar, 5+ years in trademark/IP law, and a track record in handling luxury brands, tech firms, or influencers. Strong leadership, negotiation, and cross-border coordination are essential.

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school
Active California State Bar in good standing (or eligible)
5+ years of experience in trademark/IP law, preferably in a law firm
Proven track record managing international trademark portfolios and client counseling (luxury brands, tech firms, influencers)
Strong knowledge of US and international trademark laws (Madrid Protocol), USPTO practices

Responsibilities

Manage domestic and international trademark portfolios including clearance, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement
Advise clients on trademark strategies, filings, oppositions, renewals with USPTO and international bodies
Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements and provisions
Represent clients in enforcement actions (TTAB, federal court, ADR)
Provide strategic counsel on licensing, IP due diligence for transactions, and monetization
