Responsibilities

  • Performs schedule computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculates depreciation expense.
  • Works effectively within given budgetary parameters.
  • Prepares income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals, including federal and state tax returns for multi-state companies and consolidated returns for affiliated groups.
  • Conducts tax research to ensure compliance with tax law.
  • Assist supervisors and partners with various tax analysis and issues
  • Creating spreadsheets to analyze tax issues
  • Prepare and calculate tax depreciation expenses
  • Record transactions in tax basis trial balances as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Business, Business Management, Economics, Finance or in a closely related field.
  • Either hold a current and valid CPA’s license or be working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam.
  • Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to complete work in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles and personal and entity level income tax.
  • Occasional overtime work required throughout the year. Heavy overtime work required from January 1 to April 15 and August 1 to October 15, likely in excess of 55 hours per week.
  • At least two year of work experience in public accounting or in a closely related occupation.
  • Experience in preparing individual tax returns for clients.
  • Experience filing corporate tax returns for LLC, S-Corporation, C-Corporation, and Non-profits.
  • Knowledge of CCH Axcess, iChannel and SurePrep are preferred.

$72,000 - $87,000 a year

This is an exempt position.
