Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect technical tasks before, during, and after surgical interventions. You will assist in setting up the operating suite, maintain aseptic technique, and help ensure correct patient positioning and site verification.

The role requires 1 year certificate or related training; CST/TS-C certification within 6 months is preferred. CPR within 60 days of hire is required; hospital-wide compliance standards apply.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from a college or technical school, or 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
• Preferred: 1–3 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• CPR – American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up the surgical operating suite with instruments and supplies.
• Follow aseptic technique and standard precautions; handle medications and specimens per policy.
• Assist with preparing, positioning and draping patients; participate in the surgical pause for site confirmation.
• Anticipate surgeon preferences and patient care variables; help update surgeon preference materials.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Utilize resources to promote cost-effective and efficient patient care environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
