Surgical Lab Technician AdventHealth Celebration

Work Hours/Shift:

• PRN (flexibility from 5am to 10:00pm, including 12-hour shifts in busy times; may require travel to Orlando Lab)

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Demonstrating Florida Hospital’s Core Values: Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork, as outlined in the Performance Excellence Program.
• Procurement, preparation, and disposition of anatomical specimens for educational and research purposes, including transport and cremation; periodic travel may be required.
• Accurate identification, recordkeeping, and secure tracking of all specimens using unique identification methods; maintaining specimen records securely and establishing inventory management and quality assurance programs.
• Managing animate tissue in compliance with Nicholson Center IACUC guidelines and USDA regulations.
• Providing data to the Florida State Anatomical Board as needed and ensuring all state and federal anatomical lab requirements and certifications (e.g., OSHA) are maintained.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Required:

• Completion of college-level science and/or medical classes
• Minimum 3 years of experience in surgical skills labs or operating rooms

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a science major (preferred)
• At least 5 years of surgical experience
• Experience in multi-specialty surgical operating rooms
• 3-5 years of veterinary care experience

Preferred Licensure or Registration:

• RN, PA, or NP certification
• Surgical First Assist certification
