Beacon EmbeddedWorks in Eden Prairie, MN is hiring for a 1st shift manufacturing role on a Monday-Thursday schedule with 10-hour days.

The role blends machine operator and soldering duties in a precision manufacturing environment serving regulated industries, with emphasis on quality and safety.

You will work across SMT lines, perform inspections, set up equipment, and support continuous improvement while adhering to ISO and ITAR standards.

Qualifikationen

• 1-5 years of machine operator or soldering experience.
• IPC-A-610 certification within 90 days from hire.
• J-STD-001 CIS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Able to identify and apply very small components in tight spaces.
• Self-inspect and evaluate product quality before forwarding to next step.
• Read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer proficiency (email, MS Word/Excel).
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Follow directions and maintain a safe 5S environment.
• Positive attitude and ability to cooperate with team.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Cross-train across manufacturing areas.

Aufgaben

• Load component reels onto SMT feeders or carts.
• Perform feeder setup and verify parts value.
• Assist in stencil/ Screens printer setup.
• May perform basic machine setup and programming.
• Operate AOI, Board Loader, Screen Printer, Pasting Inspection, Pick and Place, Reflow, and X-ray equipment.
• Tear down completed jobs and manage excess material.
• Enter information into MES for SPC and hourly productivity data.
• Audit kits and hand-load SMT components; work in other areas as workload requires.
• Clean equipment and perform basic PM tasks.
• Conduct resistance tests with a multimeter.
• Install components per customer prints and instructions.
• Route wires to form circuitry and perform basic hand soldering.
• Perform visual self-inspection per IPC-610A; post-SMT hand insertion and mechanical assembly.
• Perform standard rework and maintain rework records.
• May perform 2nd inspection on others’ work.
• Follow ESD, ISO 9001, AS9100, 13485 and ITAR requirements.
• Cross-train in other manufacturing areas as needed.

Essential Responsibilities are a combination of a machine operator and solderer

• Loads component reels on to SMT feeders or reel carts from kits


• Performs feeder set-up and parts value verification


• Locates stencil and assists in screen printer set-up


• May perform basic machine set-up, programming and assist senior Operators with daily department tasks


• Operates the AOI, Board Loader, Screen Printer/Paste Inspection, Pick and Place, Reflow oven and X-ray machine


• Tears down completed jobs and brings excess material to crib area


• May enter information into databases for stencils and completion of quality data (MES) for statistical process control (SPC), hourly productivity data charting


• May also audit kits, hand load SMT components, and work in other areas when workload is restricted


• General cleaning of machines and performs basic preventive maintenance (PM)


• May perform resistance test using a Multi Meter


• Accurately cut/trim/form component leads using hand cutters and forming tools


• Access customer prints and work instructions to install components and parts


• Route and attach wires to form circuitry


• Installation of through-hole and surface mount components (basic hand soldering)


• Perform visual self-inspection per IPC-610A


• Post-SMT hand insertion and mechanical assembly operations


• Perform standard rework operations


• Fill out and maintain rework records


• May be required to do 2nd inspection on others work


• Understand and follow requirements including but not limited to ESD, moisture sensitivity, ISO 9001, AS9100 and 13485 compliance, and ITAR compliance


• Ability to understand meet Quality and KPI objectives


• Cross train in other manufacturing areas as required

• Basic computer proficiency (email, Internet access, Microsoft Word/Excel)


• Good hand and eye coordination


• Able to conduct tests to determine whether equipment, software, or procedures are operating as expected


• Can self-inspect and evaluate the quality of products before forwarding to the next step in the production process


• Able to follow directions and maintain a safe, 5S environment


• Must listen effectively, possess a positive attitude, and cooperate well with team members


• Able to work in a fast-paced environment; can adapt to quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfaction
