Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital as an Experienced RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), where you will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a collaborative environment. This role is ideal for RNs looking to make a significant impact on patient experiences and outcomes.

Highlights

• Location: Akron, OH

• Department/Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Schedule: Full‑time, Night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.)

What You'll Do

• Provide direct nursing care to patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Develop and update goals, involving patients and families in care plans.
• Coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Administer treatments and medications, and document care provided.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Delegate tasks and serve as a resource person for the team.
• Communicate patient plan of care and current outcomes at shift report.
• Ensure compliance with JCAHO Core Measures related to nursing care.

Requirements

• Education:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program) required
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience:
  • 1 year of current stepdown or critical care RN experience in a hospital setting required
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current RN License in Ohio
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within the first year of employment
  • Satisfactory completion of CVVHD training and TNCC certification within one year of appointment
  • TCAR certification within 24 months of hire
