Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Experienced RN in the Operating Room in Akron, OH to deliver exceptional patient care throughout the care journey and to collaborate with a dedicated surgical team. The role focuses on direct nursing care, assessment and planning, documentation, and coordinating with patients and families.

RN license, BLS, ADN or BSN required, with two years of OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN) required.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and support for surgical patients.

About This Role

The Experienced RN in the Operating Room at Cleveland Clinic Akron General will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey, interacting directly with patients and their families. This role is ideal for RNs eager to work collaboratively in a dedicated surgical team.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involving patients and families in care plans.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Delegate tasks/assignments and serve as a resource person/role model.
• Plan for patient care utilizing patient-specific information and preference sheets.
• Assist in collecting and preparing equipment, instruments, sutures, and implants.
• Maintain the room schedule and ensure surgical specimens are handled correctly.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program) required.

Experience:

• Two years of Operating Room experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
