Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Intensive Care Unit seeks a registered nurse to provide direct patient care in a fast‑paced, comprehensive stroke and brain‑injury service. You will monitor conditions, update care plans, administer meds, and educate families in a high‑support environment.

Minimum requirements include RN licensure, ADN/BSN, and BLS; at least one year of acute care RN experience. Day/night rotations and a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• One year of current acute care RN experience or military RN experience.

The new state-of-the-art Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic, scheduled to open in 2026, will focus on treating patients suffering from brain tumors, strokes and complex spine injuries. This facility houses a 210-bed inpatient area, offering unique modular spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows, all-private rooms, video monitoring technologies and specific rooms for relaxation. The G20/H22 Neurological Intensive Care Unit provides complex neurological medical and surgical services. As a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, this floor offers medical support for numerous conditions, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subdural hematomas, status epilepticus/seizures, brain tumors, neuromuscular disorders and spinal injuries. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. Within the Neurological Institute, you benefit from extensive hands‑on experience using the latest technologies and insight from the best caregivers in the field. A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation, from 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
