Responsibilities
  • The professional nurse uses the nursing process to address the unique needs of patients and their designated care partner(s), including physical, psychological, emotional, and social aspects.
  • Develops nursing plans of care with the patient and care partner(s) to meet individualized needs and priorities, consistent with cultural beliefs and values.
  • Interacts with co‑workers, patients, families, and other staff in accordance with Jefferson values.
  • Integrates evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise, and patient/family preferences for optimal healthcare delivery.
  • Partners with patients and families to identify learning needs, priorities, and provides education that is useful, understandable, and affirming.
  • Minimizes risk of harm by following established nursing practices, protocols, and individual performance standards.
  • Uses information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision‑making.
  • Uses data to monitor outcomes of care processes and applies improvement methods to design and test changes for continuous quality and safety improvement.
  • Works effectively within nursing and inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making.
  • Provides safe, compassionate, and coordinated care based on patient preferences, priorities, needs, and cultural values.
  • Creates an environment of belonging and inclusion, demonstrating problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.

Qualifications
  • Education – Required: Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Education – Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of BSN or appropriate advanced degree within 3 years of hire.
  • Experience – Preferred: 1 year previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
  • Knowledge & Skills – Patient‑and Family‑Centered Practice; Cultural Awareness; Effective Communication; Patient Assessment and Care; Patient and Designated Care Partner Education; Medication Administration and Prescription; Discharge Planning; Assessment and Diagnosis; Health Information Documentation.
Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS – Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
  • RN – Licensed Registered Nurse (PA) or (NJ) – State of Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
  • Active RN license required in state of practice.
