Job Description
This role is considered the minimum role for all nurses at UMMC with more than 12 months of experience. The nurse will be competent in the skills and knowledge required and will fully participate in unit governance. They will practice and adhere to the guidelines specified in the UMMC Professional Nurse Job Charter. The nurse independently provides and coordinates care to patients within a clinical specialty, serving as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team. They demonstrate the full range of nursing practice in care and participate in developing strategies to improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness. They are accountable to patients and families for care processes and outcomes, to peers for group practice advancement, and to the nurse manager for overall work performance.
