Experienced Registered Nurse - Obstetrical Care Unit - L&D - $20K Sign on Bonus

Join UMMC as an experienced registered nurse in the Obstetrical Care Unit (L&D) and enjoy a $20,000 sign-on bonus. We are a Magnet-designated, nationally recognized academic medical center located in downtown Baltimore, offering a vibrant environment where talents and ideas enhance patient care and advance nursing science.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and coordinate care for patients within the obstetrics unit, demonstrating full professional nursing practice.
  • Participate actively in unit governance and adhere to the UMMC Professional Nurse Job Charter.
  • Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to patient outcomes, satisfaction, and cost-effective care.
  • Ensure accountability for care processes and outcomes, and support group practice development.
Qualifications
  • Over 1 year of experience in L&D or a critical care setting.
  • Current RN licensure in Maryland or eligibility via Compact agreements.
  • Maintain 10 contact hours of education annually.
  • Membership in a professional organization.
  • Recent clinical experience in a comparable setting.
Skills and Abilities
  • Leadership ability, such as charge nurse or preceptor roles.
  • Proficiency in computer systems for managing patient information.
  • Knowledge of growth and development principles relevant to the patient population.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Patient Safety
  • Ensure safety in all job functions and participate in safety initiatives.
  • Report and address risks, adverse events, and near misses.
Additional Information
